SYNOPSIS

Once-popular opera diva Jean Horton (Maggie Smith) creates a stir along with her arrival at Beecham Home, a home for retired performers. Nobody feels the uproar greater than Reginald (Tom Courtenay), Jean’s ex-husband, who continue to stings from her long-ago infidelity. Nearly all of the different Beecham occupants are really thrilled, and check out to persuade Jean to join them in a functional performance of “Rigoletto.” Jean, nevertheless, understands that she is long past this girl prime and is not willing to sully the memory of her once-lovely vocals.
